Unique, stunning and innovative are just a few words that describe Lissa. Known in New York, and on the East Coast as Miss Liss, she has performed on some impressive venue stages.Lissa Lauria is New York born and raised and spends nearly every waking moment listening to, making and singing music. Growing up only minutes from Manhattan which is such a musical melting pot, Lissa has come to love all kinds of music whether it's Hip Hop, Rock, Reggae, African, Jazz or Opera. But as a young girl she never believed that she could become a part of this industry she loved so much and express herself vocally even though that was the dream of her heart.Lissa is no stranger to the stage. From the tiny age of 3 years old, she was performing daily in front of thousands in major New York City venues as part of the stage productions: Annie, Diary of Anne Frank and many other. Soon she transitioned into independent films and commercials as well as living for dancing, acting and vocal classes.By the time Lissa was 15, she and her family knew that the west coast was calling her. Almost overnight, they left their lives that they'd known and ventured to the west coast. From the moment she arrived, she worked with many music producers in pursuit of the sound that was ultimately hers.A few years later, Lissa opened for the Jonas Bros. along with the Stained Pink Band in Atlanta, Georgia. Performing 4 of her original songs, Lissa got the bug to an even greater degree and knew from that moment, she was destined for the stage and show business would be her life. Her mantra echos some of what 50 Cent says, "Ill make it or die trying."Quickly, booking agents from NY to L.A. started banging on Lissa's door after seeing her undeniable talent and she began performing in some infamous venues such as: The Knitting Factory, Universal Citywalk, Stardust and The Bitter End NYC amongst others. She is best known for her unique vocals, rapping and tap dancing where she uses her feet to make beats. She also stretched her wings in the acting arena and has booked commercials, TV pilots and films, one of which is currently playing on Starz and Encore, All Ages Night as well as having a role on the hit TV series Weeds.One of Lissa's newest endeavors is her latest single, FAMOUS which she penned with the Grammy Award winning songwriting team, The Jackie Boyz. The song has seen remarkable success being picked up by independent radio stations across the country who answered requests for it to be played. Most recently, the song was added to a feature film which will have its international distribution fall of this year. Lissa's FAMOUS music video has had international play especially in South America and Europe. It is now playing on major TV stations in Guatemala and other countries. In Denmark, Lissa and "the making of FAMOUS" was featured on one of their hit reality shows. With great international appeal, Lissa has an ever growing fan base and also making waves in the music industry as her 'writing pen' is gaining quite a reputation.Lissa's most recent accomplishment is being signed by Grammy Award winning producer/songwriter, Printz Board. He is the music director of The Black Eyed Peas, as well as having collaborated on hit songs with Katy Perry, Fergie and Natasha Bedingfield to name just a few. Along with Printz, Lissa is working with the entire Beets and Produce team with sights set on debuting her new sound in 2012.With a powerful work ethic and a strong, persistent drive, Lissa is determined to make a very strong mark in the music and entertainment industry.
